At The Brisbane Gallery, we are curating a dynamic program of exhibitions that showcase exceptional local and national artists. Below you’ll find a preview of what’s coming up.
Each exhibition title offering a glimpse into the stories, themes and creative voices we’re excited to share with you.
If a particular exhibition speaks to you, we invite you to register your interest.
We run our exhibitions on a rotating 6 week exhibition cycle with a particular vision in mind with open house between exhibitions to allow artists to showcase their work or favourite pieces that didn't quite fit in with the vision of our Exhibition.
Stay tuned. More details, dates, and artist announcements will be revealed soon.
Open Calls:

Tempest
Tempest, an exhibition exploring dark, emotive, and atmospheric works. This theme speaks to tension, turbulence, shadow, intensity, and the emotional undercurrents that rise and fall within us. We welcome works that convey mood rather than literal storm imagery—anything that stirs, unsettles, or moves.
Theme
Interpretations of emotional unrest, depth, conflict, stillness before change, shadow, drama, or powerful internal landscapes. Works may be abstract, figurative, or anywhere between, as long as they evoke a strong, dark mood.
Exhibition Dates: 26th September -7th November
Submissions Close: 5th September

Make Me Pop
Make Me Pop, a vibrant exhibition celebrating bold colour, playful energy, and striking visual impact. This is a call-out for works that demand attention — pieces that jump off the wall, spark joy, and stop viewers in their tracks.
Theme
Make Me Pop welcomes artworks that are bright, dynamic, punchy, or powerfully graphic. Think contrast, colour hits, unexpected combinations, expressive marks, bold shapes, or anything that delivers a visual “pop”.
Abstract, figurative, contemporary, or experimental works are all welcome — as long as they bring energy.
Exhibition Dates: TBA (New years Exhibition)
Submissions Close: 23rd December

Be Still
Be Still, an exhibition devoted to the quiet beauty of still life. This show celebrates the poetry of everyday objects — light on glass, flowers at rest, arranged moments, and the subtle stories held in the spaces between things.
Theme
We welcome still-life works in any visual language: from traditional observational studies to contemporary, abstract, sculptural, digital, or photographic interpretations. We invite artists to explore composition, shadow, atmosphere, and symbolism, reconsidering the commonplace and giving pause to the ordinary.
Exhibition Dates: TBA
Submissions Close: TBA

Open House
The Brisbane Gallery hosts Open House, this format involves minimal curation and a strong focus on helping works find new homes quickly. It is a fluid, accessible showcase — an active space where art can connect and sell without the structure of a themed exhibition.
The Brisbane Gallery particularly looks for smaller, affordable works that are easy for collectors to take home. The aim is to create a vibrant, constantly changing wall of pieces that are accessible and ready to sell. Both 2D and 3D works are welcome.
Current Exhibition Dates:
12th August - 19th September
11th November - 23rd December
Submissions Close: 2 weeks before exhibition start date
