Teresa Mundt

Buderim-based artist Teresa Mundt creates vibrant abstract paintings guided by an intuitive fascination with colour – its history, chemistry and emotional pull. Working from her Sunshine Coast studio, Teresa moves fluidly between experimentation and intention, building richly layered works that celebrate colour as both subject and material.

Teresa’s creative journey has taken many forms over the years – from pastels, watercolour and illustration to graphic design, portraiture, and her well-known “stylised girls” and “Chicks with Chickens” series. From 2017 to 2020 she worked as a full-time artist, teaching workshops across south-east Queensland and Australia, and developing a strong following for her bold, expressive style.

Now balancing her artistic practice with her legal career and family life, Teresa continues to evolve her work with a renewed focus on abstraction, texture and the joy of making. Her paintings explore energy, movement and emotion through colour, inviting viewers into a world where playfulness and depth sit side by side.
