Introducing Rose SiuneThe Meri Collective and The Brisbane Gallery are proud to welcome Papua New Guinean artist Rose Siune to our creative community. Rose is a painter and jewellery maker whose artistic roots run deep through generations of her family.
About Rose
Born in 1990 and hailing from Chimbu, Rose carries forward the creative spirit of her late father, John Siune, a renowned artist who played a formative role in Papua New Guinea’s art scene. Inspired by his passion and legacy, Rose continues the family tradition with her own distinctive voice and vibrant energy.
In Rose’s words:
"Art is being in my family for ages. My father is formal artist in this country, the late John Siune who motivate me to do art. I love painting because I see myself create something."
Her Work
Rose’s paintings are a celebration of life, culture, and nature — full of vivid colours, expressive forms, and stories that connect past and present. Her jewellery, handmade with care and cultural pride, complements her visual art practice and reflects her love for texture, detail, and symbolism.
